About me

I am a mother of 3 teens, a teacher with 25+ years of experience with children of different age levels and from many varied backgrounds and I have completed multiple additional qualifications in the psychology and leadership field. All these things combined show that I possess the life experience, knowledge, skills and empathy that you need.

We have all been there - frustrated at knowing that there must be a better way but unable to see what it might be. Often it feels like the solution should be achievable but you are unable to figure out how to get there! Believe me, between raising my own and being there for my students as they find themselves, there is no behaviour, attitude or conduct that I haven’t seen or experienced.

My interest in understanding why people behave as they do, both as children and as adults, has led me to undertake many additional courses of study.

  • Qualified as a Primary school teacher in 2000 from Mary Immaculate College, Limerick

  • Awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Leadership (Hons) in 2012 from University College Cork (UCC) with a focus on modifying behaviours through small, incremental changes.

  • Awarded 1st class Honours in Masters in Management (Education) from NUI Galway where my thesis concentrated on providing clear, actionable feedback.

  • Awarded an Honours Masters Degree in Psychology from the University of Liverpool with a particular interest in the impact of being a trailing spouse and helping families transition to new places, both domestic and abroad

The breadth of my studies has provided me with extensive knowledge of tips, strategies, practices, and routines that have been proven to work, not only in scientific research, but also in my own life and in those of the parents I have supported. My underpinning belief is that you are not alone, whatever you and your child are experiencing has been experienced by others through their own lens, and there are ways to help, support, anticipate, prevent and change whatever it is, when someone listens, understands and supports you. Let me be that person for you.
